It could be yet another big day on the ground for the Detroit Lions running backs against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at AT&T Stadium.
David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs have already been a problem for NFL defenses this season and have excelled when teams aren't at full strength, especially on the defensive line.
A prime example of that was in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks, when the Lions went up against a defensive front that was without the services of Byron Murphy II, Leonard Williams, Boye Mafe and Uchenna Nwosu.

While quarterback Jared Goff and the Lions passing offense played exceptionally well, the talented offensive line made work of the Seahawks' holes on defense and Gibbs and Montgomery combined for 118 yards on 26 carries and three touchdowns.
Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer has already shared his thoughts on his banged up defense and the troubles it will bring on Sunday. Dallas is without DeMarcus Lawrence and Durrell Johnson as both are on the injured reserve and they may also be without Micah Parsons (ankle) and Marshawn Kneeland (knee).
"Obviously, you're losing four good players at basically one spot (edge)," Zimmer told reporters on Wednesday. "You try to figure out what these (other) guys can do best, how they can fit in?"
The Lions are averaging 151 yards per game and Dallas ranks 24th overall in run defense. Zimmer shared his thoughts on not only Gibbs and Montgomery but Detroit's offense as a whole.
"It's not only [Gibbs and Montgomery]," Zimmer said. "The offensive line they have is really good and they do a good job in scheming and getting guys reached and cut off and then these backs can really hit the hole good. Again, it'll be a really good test for us."
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy also said the offense does well with its shifts and motions, throwing defenses off frequently.
If Goff continues to play well, it's only going to create more problems for the Cowboys defense as Gibbs and Montgomery are almost guaranteed to cause problems regardless.
