The game had to be moved to Malvern's Dyson Perrins Astro Turf, after their usual home ground at Droitwich RFC was deemed unplayable.

Bulldogs received the ball first, and initially made some good ground with running plays, before Royals grew into the game and were able to overwhelm the offence.

Royals were able to claim the ball, after successfully sacking the Bulldogs' quarterback on a number of occasions.

As soon as they claimed possession, the were able to put Bulldogs on the back foot, running in the ball for the only touchdown of the first quarter.

They were unable to convert the ensuing kick, but remained in the drivers seat going into the second quarter.

Royals' defence maintained their pressure on Bulldogs in the second period, forcing them to make mistakes. An intentional grounding penalty pushed Bulldogs back further into their own half, before Worcester were able to score a two point safety, to go into half time up 8-0.

The narrative remained the same in the third quarter. Bulldogs were unable to get anywhere on offence, stifled by Royals' defensive team.

Royals soon claimed the ball again, and made light work of Bulldogs to run it in for their second touchdown of the day.

The two-point conversion was missed again, but this did not matter to the Royals side, who now found themselves up 14-0.

In the final quarter, Bulldogs still could not get anywhere in attack, more stifling defence, and further sacks on the quarterback, saw no ground made for Bath. Worcester, meanwhile, ran home their third and final touchdown of the game. This time they put home the conversion, and walked away from the bout with a dominant 22-0 victory.

The win sees Worcester Royals go top of the table, ahead of their fixture with Plymouth Blitz on Sunday, January 19.
