Reed Miller had himself a block party on Tuesday night inside Viking Hall.
Tennessee High's 6-foot-5 junior post player blocked nine shots and scored 10 points as the Vikings earned a 62-48 boys basketball victory over the Gate City Blue Devils.
"Reed was huge for us with his rebounding and shot blocking. He changes the game for us inside," said THS coach Michael McMeans. "He's protection at the rim which allows our guards to be able to really get up and pressure the other team. It also allows them to get out and get steals because Reed is sitting back there in help and prevents teams from scoring around the rim."
Colin Brown led the Vikings in scoring as usual with 27 points. Zander Phillips (12 points, eight rebounds) and Braden Howard (nine points, six steals) also had notable showings.
Gate City did not have a player score in double figures. The Blue Devils were led by the eight points of Bo Morris.
