Road rage shooting critically injures driver in Glendale

PHOENIX - A driver was critically injured in an apparent road rage shooting in Glendale on Monday morning, authorities said.

The incident occurred just before 8 a.m. at the intersection of 67th Avenue and Camelback Road, according to the Glendale Police Department.

The drivers of a silver pickup truck hauling a trailer and a smaller tan pickup truck apparently got into a dispute while stopped at the light on eastbound Camelback Road.

The driver from the silver truck allegedly got out and confronted the other driver. The driver of the tan truck then allegedly pulled out a gun and fired once, striking the other driver, police said.

The driver of the silver truck sustained life-threatening injuries.

The alleged shooter remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators, police said.

No other details were released. The investigation into the road rage shooting is ongoing.
