With more than 25 years of investment experience, Cairns is responsible for the day-to-day operations and strategic vision for Howe and Rusling.

A US Army veteran who flew Apache helicopters in the Gulf War, he has a B.S. in Economics from St. Bonaventure University and an MBA in finance from the University of Rochester's William E. Simon School.

Cairns serves as Chair of the Compensation Committee on the board of Transcat, Inc. He is also Vice-Chair of the board of McQuaid Jesuit High School and a former Chair of the Board of the Veteran's Outreach Center and former board member of the Communis Board for the Diocese of Rochester.
