The troubled retailer Big Lots plans to close 15 stores across Indiana.
The Columbus, Ohio-based discount retailer filed for bankruptcy and has since announced several waves of store closures across the country.
Big Lots plans to close Indiana stores in South Bend, Lafayette, Indianapolis, Crawfordsville, Elkhart, Evansville, Fort Wayne, Kokomo, Noblesville, Warsaw, Muncie, Franklin, New Haven and New Albany. In Indianapolis, it plans to shutter its stores on Allisonville Road on the northeast side of the Circle City and on Michigan Road on the northwest side of the city.
Big Lots sells housewares, home decor, mattresses, furniture, patio furniture, grocery items, toys, electrics, health and wellness products, beauty and personal care items, back-to-school goods, seasonal holiday products and other general merchandise.

One Calumet Region location is shuttering just across the state line. Big Lots is closing its longtime store at 1699 River Oaks Dr in River Oaks West Shopping Center in Calumet City.
It plans to keep open its Schererville, Hobart and Portage locations, at least for now.
