Jayden Daniels didn't end up beating the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, but he certainly put more pride and legitimacy to the Washington Commanders.
Despite their 30-23 loss on Sunday, Daniels was able to still play at a high level throwing for just under 270 yards passing and two touchdown throws to Terry McLaurin.
More importantly, he earned the respect of the reigning MVP in Lamar Jackson. Even if the Ravens' quarterback denied playing the former Heisman Trophy winner put him on the spot to excel.
"No, I believe [Daniels] deserves all the hype he's getting," Jackson said. "He played a tremendous game out there. They just came up short. He's been proving it. His rookie season -- first six games he's been playing amazing."
Daniels has a completion percentage over 75% through his first six games of his NFL career while throwing six touchdowns to two interceptions. The numbers scream the likes of a strong rookie quarterback beginning to take his place among the NFL stars.
Kind of like Jackson at a time in his early career.

After sitting on the sidelines during the end of the Joe Flacco era, Jackson took over for Baltimore late in the season and propelled them to a division title. A year later, he won an MVP award for the Ravens.
That's the future Daniels and Washington could be looking at. So long as the quarterback continues to turn heads.
