BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- The Zachary Broncos offense has been averaging 33 points per game in their last three outings and they kept the train rolling by beating Liberty, 42-8.
Late in the first quarter, Zachary was already up 6-0, Caleb Gonzales found Jaiden Cockerman in the endzone to extend the Broncos' lead, to 13-0.
In the second quarter, Gonzales hit Tra'lan Sept for six to put the Broncos up by 20. Zachary's offense kept firing on all cylinders from there, and Liberty's defense couldn't keep up.
That win gave Zachary its third district win, placing the Broncos in first place in District 4-5A, with Catholic close behind with a 2-0 record.
