Before Saturday's contest, the Wisconsin football program had failed to score at least 40 points in 24 consecutive games. Failure to "Launch," the "Dairy Raid" turning to ground beef, or whatever your dig of choice, felt apt through one and one-third seasons of the Luke Fickell era.
The Badgers (3-2, 1-1 Big Ten) responded against Purdue (1-4, 0-2 Big Ten) with a 52-6 victory. A week after one former player proclaimed, "y'all gonna see me on a podcast one day explaining exactly what was going on my last season there," the vibes in Madison could not have shifted more drastically.
Badgers Freshman Running Back Darrion Dupree "Needs to Remain on the Field"
After losing leading rusher Chez Mellusi to injury rehab, Badgers freshman Darrion Dupree awaited an expanded opportunity. The former three/four-star recruit flashed in his limited opportunities against Purdue, showcasing his speed and leaving former playmakers for the Wisconsin football program wanting to see more.
Wide receiver Trech Kekahuna had a breakout performance of his own. Thanks to his speed and a lot of "green grass" ahead of him, the redshirt freshman scored two touchdowns against the Boilermakers.

"Patient" Wisconsin Football Fans Start Seeing Results
Wisconsin has defeated Purdue in 18 consecutive matchups. Although the Badgers' victory came against an opponent alumni are used to getting the better of, it still came as a welcome change to what fans had been watching for over a year.
Twice last season, UW recorded 38 points in victories over Buffalo and Purdue. Saturday, it beat that previous high-water mark of the Fickell era by two touchdowns.
Punters are People, Too
Likely aided by the sun, Purdue returners muffed two punts sent their way by Wisconsin punter Atticus Bertrams. The second miscue was recovered by Badgers long snapper Cayson Pfeiffer to set up a 12-yard touchdown run by tailback Tawee Walker.
Former Badgers and Carolina Panthers punter Brad Nortman tipped his cap to Bertrams.
