Infant taken to the hospital for ingesting pot: Avon Lake police blotter

On September 26, officers responded to a report of an infant that had ingested marijuana. The infant was transported to the hospital, and children services was contacted.

Drug investigation: Legacy Isle Parkway

On September 26, units were dispatched to a home on Legacy Isle Parkway for suspected drugs located on their front porch. Upon arrival, an abandoned vehicle was located in the construction site near the caller's house. The suspected drugs were collected and the registered owner of the vehicle was cited.

Disturbance: Burton Street

A resident reported an incident between her and two people who live on Burton Street on September 29. She said they had taken her autistic son's TV in the past and reprogrammed the stations. She said was video recording the subjects when one of them smacked the phone out of her hand so she called the police.

Warrant arrest: Walker Road

Police made contact with a woman and her 21-year-old daughter at Speedway on October 4. The daughter was in distress and was very emotional. An ID check found she had an active warrant through Westlake Police Department. The warrant was confirmed and she was transported and released into Westlake custody.

Juvenile complaint: Electric Boulevard

Police were dispatched to the library on October 7 for juveniles causing a disturbance and fighting.

Warrant arrest: Moore Road

On October 8, an officer observed a man they recognized from a previous call. The suspect

had an active warrant through the Bay Village Police Department. He was arrested and released to Bay Village Police.

Theft: Electric Boulevard

A man reported on October 9 that he attempted to purchase a model train set on Facebook Marketplace from an out-of-state seller. He received a bag of miscellaneous hardware instead.

Warrant service: Burton Street

While investigating a complaint at a residence on Burton Street on October 9, a male with active warrants fled from officers on his bicycle while on scene. The male was located near the Cove apartments and arrested.

Drunk driving: Walker Road

On October 11, a driver was arrested and cited for drunk driving.

Theft: Walker Road

An elderly woman reported someone stole her purse while she was loading groceries into the trunk of her vehicle on October 15. The victim said she was approached by a woman who asked her for directions to a bank but that she believed that it was used as a distraction so that she could take the purse. The woman said she saw the suspect leave the parking lot in a red minivan or SUV but couldn't identify her otherwise.

Disturbance: Mull Avenue

On October 12, officers responded to a disturbance and arrested a woman for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Due to her having multiple warrants for failure to appear, she was given a $1,000 bond, which she was unable to post. As a result, she was taken to the Lorain County Jail.
