Following the Indianapolis Colts' Week 8 matchup with the Houston Texans, Bernhard Raimann would enter concussion protocol after reporting symptoms. He did not practice at all during the week and as of Friday, remains in concussion protocols.
Bernhard Raimann injury update
With Raimann not practicing at all during the week and still in concussion protocol, the Colts ruled him out of Sunday night's game on Friday.
How long will Bernhard Raimann be out?
That still remains to be seen at this point. Ultimately, Raimann can't be available until he is cleared and given the go ahead to return.
Colts' left tackle depth chart
With Raimann out for this game, the expectation is that rookie Matt Goncalves will make his first start at left tackle. During his time at Pittsburgh, the majority of Goncalves snaps came at right tackle, although he does have experience on the left side as well-not to mention that the Colts cross-trained him at both positions over the summer.
"I was mostly right side (in college), but I had my fair share of starts at left tackle, too," said Goncalves on Friday via The Athletic's James Boyd. "So it's something I'm a little used to. Probably more familiar with the right side, but I don't find it that much of a challenge to switch sides."
Awaiting Goncalves and the rest of the Colts' offensive line is an aggressive and blitz-heavy Vikings' defense, who leads the NFL in pressure rate.
