Following yesterday's patch and downtime for Destiny 2, Bungie is conducting emergency maintenance for the game today! If you're seeing Destiny 2 down this October 16, this is why, and this is to investigate the increasing amount of Bat and Weasel errors showing up for players.

The announcement was made just now, with no schedule on how long the servers will be out:

We will monitor the situation as it develops, and if once Bungie releases an update, we'll add it to the article. In addition to the server downtime, Bungie is also actively working on a patch. While there's no word if we are getting one today, we've listed the Destiny 2 known issues . Note that this is not the complete list but a target list of issues for the game.
