It finally happened. Apple finally upgraded its entire Mac lineup to start with 16GB of RAM across the board and we couldn't be happier. We are in fact already tracking the first deal on the 15-inch M3 MacBook Air with the updated RAM setup, but for folks just looking for an even more affordable way to land a relatively new machine for less, Amazon and Best Buy just dropped the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air with 8GB of RAM and the 256GB SSD down to $649 shipped. This was an originally $1,099 machine that more recently fell to a regular price at $999 and now carries an $899 list at Best Buy after Apple updated the RAM setup on both the M2 and M3 machines.

But if you can make do with the 8GB, this is a seriously notable price at $50 under our previous mention and $450 under the price it initially launched at.

There's no denying how much more power machines need to run the latest software and the number of tabs many of us like to have running on the browser, but for those just looking for a causal portable laptop, there's some serious value to be had with today's deal.

The newer 13-inch M3 MacBook Air with 8GB of RAM is selling on sale for $899 at Amazon right now, and the updated 16GB model is now sitting at $1,090. Apple has seriously increased the value on the M3 lineup after bumping the base model to 16GB without raising the price - it was arguably the most important announcement of last month from the brand (and perhaps all year for many) - but you're still going to have to fork out a whole lot more cash to score one of those than you will on the M2 model we are featuring here today.

Some folks definitely need the 16GB of RAM, that's for sure, but some can save a ton and score a sweet casual Apple notebook for a fraction of the price today too.

Supercharged by the next-generation M2 chip, the redesigned MacBook Air combines incredible performance and up to 18 hours of battery life into its strikingly thin aluminum enclosure. M2 chip for incredible performance. Apple Intelligence helps you write, express yourself, and get things done effortlessly.
