10, 1927, to Edward and Blanche (Wilkerson) Collins in Lexington, Ill. She married James De Noble on November 26, 1952, in Illinois. They moved to Mazomanie, Wis., where Dana was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother.
In her later years, Dana was a farm wife. She did many chores on the farm and kept the farm going when Jim was at work. During her retirement years, Dana worked for the Mazomanie School District and Wisconsin Heights High School in food service. She was a talented seamstress, sewing clothes for many people over the years, in addition to quilts, blankets and toys. She had many crafting talents, especially crocheting.
Dana moved to Rosewood Villas Senior Living in Madison in 1999. She lived there for 23 years. She had many good friends and thrived on all the fun they had there. She was feisty in her old age. At age 82, she got her first tattoo and a year later, she got a second one.
When Age Related Macular Degeneration took away her eyesight, it didn't take away her spirit. One of her finest qualities was that she never complained about anything or anybody.
In 2022 after turning 95 years old and living independently, Dana moved to Four Winds Assisted Living in Verona and lived there for two years. When her dementia worsened, she moved to the Four Winds Skilled Nursing Facility. She loved joking and bantering with the residents and staff. The family gives their heartfelt thanks to the Four Winds staff for their loving care and support of Dana.
Dana was a member of Saint Barnabas Catholic Church when she lived in Mazomanie and a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church while she lived in Madison.
Dana is survived by her three children, Wayne (Rita) Lander, Sally (Bob) Ainsworth and Sy (Elaine) De Noble; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way!
