After months of speculation that he was unhappy in Las Vegas, three-time All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams was finally granted his wish and traded to the New York Jets.
Despite the front that he and the team had been putting on in the offseason to shut down the noise, fans had long thought that Adams would be reuniting with his former quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. While it's too soon to tell if the move will actually be beneficial for a team that fired its head coach and currently is in a worse position to make the playoffs than the one he left, Adams got what he wanted.
Although the 31-year-old is no longer dealing with trade rumors regarding himself and the Raiders, he is still being asked about another Raiders star entrenched in trade discussions. While making his weekly appearance on "Up and Adams" with Kay Adams, Davante was asked about the possibility of All-Pro pass rusher Maxx Crosby being traded.
A move that he doesn't think is going to happen.
"I saw it," Davante Adams said regarding the trade noise around Crosby. "I don't really know what's going on with that. I highly doubt that Maxx (Crosby) will be traded out of there. But there's been a lot of talk going on I just don't know what to make of it."
Crosby's name has been a popular one in trade talks after Detroit Lions' star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson broke his leg in the team's Oct. 13 win over the Dallas Cowboys, while sacking quarterback Dak Prescott.
It also didn't help that Crosby hinted that he would no longer be in Las Vegas last Thursday when he said he wasn't interested in being a part of a rebuild.
"I'm not here to rebuild," Crosby said on Thursday. "I'm here to win. So I don't know whatever that means, but yeah, I'm here to win now. Wherever I'm gonna be... I'm gonna be here to win. So, that's all that matters to me."
An odd comment to make, considering the Raiders are seemingly trending toward one of the top picks in the NFL draft.
However, multiple reports have confirmed that the Raiders do not want to trade Crosby, and that it would take a couple of first-round picks to even get a conversation going. So, at least for now, the thought of Crosby being traded can be put to rest.
