The crash involving a van and SUV occurred at Highway 6 and St. John's Road East.
The driver of the van suffered serious injuries and was transported to a trauma unit. The injuries are not considered life-threatening, said Norfolk OPP Const. Andrew Gamble.
The driver and a passenger in the SUV were taken to local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the SUV, a 46-year-old Haldimand County resident, is facing charges of causing bodily harm.
In a social media post, Gamble said collisions are becoming "far too common" at the intersection of Highway 6 and St. John's Road East.
Emergency personnel responded to two collisions, one at around 6 a.m. and the second at just after 8 p.m., at the intersection on Wednesday, he said.
