Diane Goheen Baker, a doting grandmother, loving mother and wife and loyal friend passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, at age 77. She was surrounded by her family at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Ken Goheen and Lyla Goheen Petersen. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Howard; her two sons, Andrew (Nerissa) of Blairsville, GA and Brian (Crystal) of Hillsborough, NC; and her five grandsons, Logan, Bryson, Trent, Jackson and Tyler.
Diane cherished spending time with her friends and family. She loved children and never tired of showering them with attention and gifts. She loved socializing with friends in her bridge, book, and supper clubs. While raising her family, she served in numerous positions in her local community. She found her calling in working with children in various capacities including as a Cubmaster with the Boy Scouts of America, as a counselor for at-risk youth in Marion, NC and in the children's ministry of First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC.

Diane has left an indeliblemark on friends and family from her birthplace in South Dakota, her childhood home in Chicago, IL and her adopted homes of Marion and Belmont, NC. Diane's memory will forever live on in the hearts of all her loved ones.
A celebration of her life will be held at 12 p.m. January 10, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church in Marion, NC. Friends will be received at 11 a.m. prior to the service.
