The 44-year-old actor, who plays Spencer Reid in theeries, will be making a long-awaited appearance on Paramount+'s Criminal Minds: Evolution.

Matthew has not yet appeared in the sequel series, which debuted on Paramount+ in November 2022. The show revealed that Spencer Reid and fellow MIA cast member Daniel Henney's Matt Simmons have been away on an assignment.

"I'm not giving up hope on that. But I do know that everybody has these lives outside of our show, and that's the tricky part.... They're off doing other things," she added.

Matthew is working on the pilot for CBS' Einstein procedural, in which he'll play Albert Einstein's "brilliant but directionless" great-grandson.
