Real Madrid are to start considering their transfer options after the conclusion of Sunday's match against Sevilla, which is their last before the winter break. Signings are not expected, although if one were to happen, it would be in central defence.
In the last couple of months, Carlo Ancelotti has lost two centre-back options for the rest of the season: Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal, who had been utilised there on occasion. David Alaba is also yet to return from the ACL injury he suffered last December, and this has left Antonio Rudiger, Aurelien Tchouameni and Raul Asencio.
If Real Madrid do decide to sign, one player that they would consider is Mario Gila. According to Diario AS, the former La Fabrica star, who now plays for Lazio, is an option because the club has activate their 50% sell-on to sign him at a reduced cost.
Gila would be a good option for Real Madrid, especially as he is relatively young. However, it would be a surprise if they went for another during the winter transfer window, unless another injury were to occur.
