Eagles' NFC East Clash Takes Sad Turn With Andrew Thomas Injury

Injuries are a part of the NFL game, but that doesn't mean they are any less brutal for those who root for the players putting their lives on the line every Sunday.

For the New York Giants, that reality hit hard Tuesday evening.

Top left tackle Andrew Thomas suffered a foot injury that appears to force the Georgia star into season-ending surgery for the remainder of the 2024 season.

That will affect their upcoming game against the Philadelphia Eagles and their defense that is coming off a five-sack performance against the Cleveland Browns. '

Thomas has been something of an iron man of sorts for the Giants, shaking off a poor rookie season to become one of the best left tackles in the game today.

Despite their 2-4 record, the Giants' offensive line has looked vastly improved in the last few weeks with Thomas leading the way and under new leadership.

Instead, Thomas' injury should have the Eagles' edge rushers seeing red throughout the contest against Daniel Jones. While Philadelphia's edge rushing group hasn't been nearly as dominant as they would have hoped, the belief is that the organization is on the right track.

And they could get an even bigger "get right" game against the shorthanded Giants.
