Mary Edwina Davis Lange went to heaven on Sept 29, 2024. She was born in Hot Springs, SD on August 18, 1931. The family moved to Minnesota then California before making their way to Oak Harbor WA in 1943. She graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1949. Mary helped with 3 younger siblings and a mom who had health problems while her dad worked as an electrician on the base then traveled to jobs all around the world. She met Bernard Lange in Oak Harbor, where their parents lived next door to each other for a time, and she and Bernie married on April 12, 1958.They went on to have four children, Greg, Doug, Scott and Kathy who all also graduated from Oak Harbor High School.

Mary enjoyed her children, being in the stands or on the sidelines at all their various sports and activities, and being a stay at home mom. She loved camping with friends and family and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She bowled at Oak Bowl with her lifelong friends for more than 40 yrs. Mary enjoyed OHHS athletics with Bernie where you could catch them on fall nights enjoying OHHS football games and volleyball games, winter nights enjoying OHHS basketball games and wrestling matches, as well as, spring baseball and softball games. She and Bernie have been staunch supporters of Oak Harbor High School athletics for over 70 years. They both bleed purple and gold!

Mary truly enjoyed her OHHS school reunions. She was always involved with planning and implementing reunions, and later, triennial reunions, for OHHS classes from the 1940's.

She will be greatly missed for her wit, her guidance and her love of family. She is survived by her husband Bernard, children-Greg (Sharon), Doug (Becci), Scott (Cathy) and Kathy (Mark), her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her sister Margaret, brothers William Jr and Richard, and her parents William and Florence Davis.

Funeral will be held at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Oak Harbor, on Friday Oct. 11 at 10am, followed by burial at Maple Leaf Cemetery and a reception at St. Augustine's Church.
