Supergiant Games has brought the sequel to its Underworld brawler "Hades II" to macOS, with it now natively supporting Apple Silicon hardware.
Hades II is a sequel to the Supergiant Games rogue-like dungeon crawler Hades, with it available as an early access game on Steam. While it was initially distributed for Windows, the developers have now made it available on macOS.
In Wednesday's "Olympic Update" patch, the game has been given many updates and tweaks to gameplay. One of the highlights is the addition of Mac support, with it now running natively on an M1 chip or later.
The update means gamers on Mac can now buy the game and install it to their hardware directly from Steam. However, support is only for Apple Silicon Macs, not older Intel models.
Aside from Apple Silicon, the Mac requirements include 10GB of space, 8GB of memory, and macOS 12 or later. It is recommended to be on macOS 15 with 16GB of memory.
Hades II puts the player in the role of the Immortal Princess of the Underworld, exploring a mythic world based on greed mythology. The aim is to defeat Chronos, the god of time, who took her family prisoner, with the player aided by other Olympian Gods in their rescue attempt.
