Vanderbilt shocked the world when it beat top-ranked Alabama this past Saturday.
Alabama was a heavy favorite going into the game after beating Georgia at home the week before but that didn't matter in a 40-35 loss.
The Commodores stunned everyone and stormed the field after the win. Their fans then took down the goalposts and carried them down Broadway in Nashville.
In light of the loss, ESPN's Paul Finebaum thinks "the mystique" of Crimson Tide football has been dented.
"The problem is the mystique and the aura over Alabama has now been dented, as well as a very difficult schedule, which includes road games at Tennessee, at LSU, and at Oklahoma," Finebaum said, via On3.
Yes, those are all tough teams but Kalen DeBoer is good enough as a coach to get his squad ready for them. During his tenure with the Washington Huskies, he went 25-3 and knew how to get the team ready each week.
The Crimson Tide are still in great shape for the 2024 season. They're the No. 7 team in the AP Poll and have all of their goals in front of them.
Their next game will be against the South Carolina Gamecocks this Saturday (October 12) before they go to Knoxville to play the Tennessee Volunteers on October 19.
Both games will get going at 3:30 p.m. ET.
