BELMONT COUNTY, OHIO (WTRF) - The man accused of hitting another driver head-on and causing her death last November has entered a guilty plea.
33-year-old Benjamin Romshak of Flushing pled guilty to one count of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide.
Another charge of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Methamphetamines was dropped.
The November 14th crash caused the death of Sunni Rae Scott of Bellaire.
The judge told Romshak the mandatory minimum sentence for that offense is eight years in prison.
"However the Department of Corrections, if they feel you've committed new crimes while you're incarcerated or if they view you as a threat to the public or you have all kinds of acts of misbehavior while you're in prison, they can seek to impose additional time."
Sentencing is set for early November.
Officials say Romshak was so impaired behind the wheel that day...that other drivers were calling 9-1-1 to report his reckless driving. Multiple agencies were on the way when the crash occurred.
Romshak told the judge today he suffers from severe anxiety, PTSD, manic depressive disorder and bipolar disorder.
He had reportedly been enrolled in drug court for an earlier incident, but failed to show up for court or for treatment.
