BELLINGHAM, Mass. (WPRI) -- Two Woonsocket men were arrested Thursday after allegedly leading Bellingham police on a chase following a shoplifting incident.
Shortly after a local retailer reported the shoplifting around 3:10 p.m., the two men drove off with a woman who police say was not involved in the criminal activity.
Bellingham officers pulled over their car on the way to the scene. During the stop, a passenger reportedly shoved the driver out of the car and took off, prompting the woman to jump out before the vehicle sped away.
At that point, police said Yadriel Rodrigues, 22, who was the original driver, was taken into custody.
The fleeing suspect, later identified as Jonavin Camacho, 23, crashed shortly afterward and attempted to run from the scene. Officers quickly surrounded the area and apprehended him.
Police said the driver of the vehicle struck by Camacho was taken to a local hospital with apparent minor injuries.
Both men are facing multiple charges, according to police.
