FARGO -- Health experts say now is a good time to make a plan to keep your vaccinations on schedule.
If you missed getting your flu vaccine in the fall of 2024, you can still schedule an appointment now, as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say peak flu season runs through February.
Sanford doctors also recommend making regular check-ups to go over your health records to make sure patients have the most up-to-date protection against disease.
"If you come into the doctor's office to get your annual flu shot, we can review your other medications. Maybe you need to be brought up to date on your pneumonia shot, maybe you need to be brought up to date on your RSV shot," said Dr. Avish Nagpal an infectious disease physician at Sanford in Fargo.
People not visiting the doctor or not considering themselves to be at risk of illness are the most common reasons given for not staying up to date on vaccines, Nagpal said.
