The Severance drought is almost over, and praise Kier, we've got a teaser trailer to prove it.
The trailer puts us right back in Mark's (Adam Scott) shoes following the highly stressful Season 1 finale, which saw the Innies of Lumon Industries' Macrodata Refinement Department (MDR) make a bold mistake. Unfortunately, the finale ended with the Innies forced right back into Lumon, unaware of the consequences they might face.
We get an idea of those consequences in this trailer, though. After Mark runs, horrified, through the halls of Lumon, he finds himself right back at MDR. There's just one problem: All the other Innies he knew are gone, replaced by three new coworkers (played by Alia Shawkat, Bob Balaban, and Stefano Carannante). What in the world has Lumon done to Helly (Britt Lower), Irving (John Turturro), and Dylan (Zach Cherry)?
One thing remains the same, though. Supervisor Milchick (Tramell Tillman) is still around, toting some blue balloons with Mark's face on them. Nothing but the right balance of creepy and corporate for Lumon employees!
The teaser features some other strange glimpses at what's to come, including a melon bar with a melon carved in the shape of Irving's head, Harmony Cobel (Patricia Arquette) making her way through an underground tunnel, and missing posters for Mark's wife Gemma (Dichen Lachman), who was once presumed dead but is in fact Lumon's wellness counselor. (At least, until she got sent to the dreaded Testing Floor.) So what does it all mean? We'll have to wait until January to find out.
