Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a crash around 1:58 p.m. Thursday involving a stolen vehicle near Valmont Road and North 95th Street, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Colorado State Patrol Trooper Sherri Mendez said that two occupants were traveling in a stolen Chevy Silverado when they crashed into a Mini Cooper and fled on foot. The driver of the Mini Cooper was not injured in the crash, according to Mendez.
While the police found one of the occupants of the stolen Chevy Silverado and arrested the person on suspicion of felony auto theft, Mendez said, they did not find the other occupant, who reportedly stole another vehicle.
Police issued an Everbridge alert around 2:33 p.m. - a cell phone notification to a group of people in a certain area - as part of their search for suspects within the perimeter of Isabelle Road, Phillips Road, U.S. 287 and North 95th Street, according to Boulder County Public Information Officer Vinnie Montez. Police believe the stolen vehicle incident happened in Louisville, Montez said.
Assisting agencies include the Louisville Police Department, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office and the Colorado State Patrol.
