For the record, Brandi Rhodes hasn't 'acknowledged sh*t'

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes may have bigger fish to fry than Kevin Owens. As it turns out, KO isn't the only one feeling a certain way about the champ's decision to team with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood.

Last Saturday in Atlanta, Brandi Rhodes, the wife of the Undisputed Champ, posted a selfie with an uncomfortable expression and her index finger pointed to the sky as the Original Tribal Chief (OTC) made his entrance for their match against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.

"I don't know, guys. #WWEBadBlood," said Brandi on X.

On Wednesday, she clarified her position, stating, "For the record, I haven't acknowledged (insert poop emoji)." This came days after Kevin Owens expressed his discontent by dropping Cody like a bad habit following Bad Blood. As it seems, Brandi and Owens aren't the only ones with mixed feelings about Cody's decision to team with Reigns.

On Monday, Seth Rollins voiced his confusion over Rhodes' decision to team with someone Rollins took a proverbial bullet from at WrestleMania XL. "While I was gone, hell must have frozen over," Rollins remarked on Raw. "If I'm not mistaken, Cody Rhodes is teaming with Roman Reigns -- and getting punched in the mouth by Kevin Owens."

Rollins didn't elaborate on the Cody-Owens situation, hinting at a possible WWE gag order. But given what we've seen and heard from Rollins, Owens, and Mrs. Rhodes, this raises an important question: why is everyone so averse to Cody's decision to team with Roman Reigns?

In the past five years, Cody Rhodes has done everything possible to become pro wrestling's supreme goody two shoes. While in AEW, Rhodes' patriotic stance while battling racism ended in regret. That may explain why, since 2023, Rhodes has turned his attention to becoming WWE's answer to St. Anthony of Padua, the patron saint of lost souls.

After Sami Zayn betrayed Reigns at that year's Royal Rumble, Rhodes quickly forgave him for his perceived transgressions. He also played a vital role in mending the friendship between Zayn and Owens. Ironically, Rhodes' mission to save lost souls inadvertently drove a wedge between Owens and Zayn last fall. After Jey Uso quit the company following SummerSlam, Rhodes facilitated an agreement that brought Uso to Raw, resulting in Owens being moved to SmackDown. That moment may have sparked Owens' issues with Rhodes.

Now, in another attempt to extend an olive branch, Rhodes partnered with Reigns in a bid to dismantle The Bloodline. However, this alliance left Owens feeling partly betrayed because of his past issues with Reigns. Rhodes also received a stern warning from Randy Orton -- who also has a complicated history with the OTC -- not to let his dealings with Reigns interfere with Orton's business.

But to love Cody, one must accept that The American Nightmare is on a mission to become wrestling's ultimate good guy. This is a man who has patterned his career after John Cena, the previous generation's Superman. Whether that's for business reasons, altruistic intentions, or both, Rhodes is going to do his best to be all things to all people.

But as the saying goes, you can't please everyone. Rhodes learned this lesson the hard way with Kevin Owens, and he may face it again if he crosses Randy Orton. While Brandi may be more forgiving, Cody's good intentions could cost him fans, much like they did in AEW.

Only time will tell what lies ahead for St. Cody as he continues to try to save souls and bring love to the masses.
