JAX Taylor has been shelling out $5,600-a-month for a Hollywood bachelor pad after ex Brittany Cartwright took over their marital home, The U.S. Sun can reveal.
Though The Valley star no longer shares a house with his ex-wife, he's still surrounded by familiar faces as his neighbor in the conjoined unit is close friend and Vanderpump Rules co-star, Tom Schwartz.
Jax, 45, moved out of his $2.2m Valley Village family farmhouse and into a two-bedroom industrial townhouse in North Hollywood back in August.
The reality star admitted on the Bravo Hot Mic podcast that he signed the lease to the $5,600-a-month unit sight unseen while he was in an in-patient mental health facility over the Summer.
The modern, charcoal-colored shipping container building comes equipped with marble countertops, stainless steel appliances and gold hardware fixtures.
A two-car garage, as well as a washer and dryer, are also included in the unit - which is filled with natural light from several large windows.
The highlight of the space is the large deck, which boasts enough room to host a dinner party and comes with an outdoor BBQ.
Sitting on a quiet cul-de-sac in the valley, the newly-built property is a far cry from the bar owner's former apartment in the hustle and bustle of West Hollywood.
His new apartment is less than a 10-minute drive from the Studio City bar he's a partner of, Jax's.
While Jax may be the number one guy in the group, he calls penthouse two of the unit his home - while his longtime buddy, Tom Schwartz, 42, is the tenant of penthouse one.
The Bravo duo do not formerly live together however, they do share a wall in the conjoined unit and have nearly identical living spaces.
Jax and Tom's bachelor pads were built by Los Angeles-based construction company DreamSpace.
According to their site, Dreamspace LA "provides high quality Development, Construction and Consultation services for single family home and small to medium sized multifamily projects across Los Angeles."
Back in 2019, Jax and Brittany were the latest of the Vanderpump crew to buy a similar modern farmhouse in Valley Village, CA - with former couples Schwartz and Katie Maloney as well as Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix all moving into nearly identical homes nearby.
The couple lived in the home for five years and raised son Cruz, 3, before announcing their separation in February 2024.
In July, it was revealed that Jax had entered an in-patient treatment center to focus on his mental health.
While he was receiving treatment, Brittany filed for divorce - ultimately leading Jax to move out on his own so his ex and son could stay at their family home.
Jax spoke about the optics of his new living arrangement and clapped back at anyone who accused him of being "roommates" with his old pal, Schwartz.
"Everyone keeps saying, do I live with Tom Schwartz? I do not live with Tom Schwartz. He has a townhouse that is next to mine, but they are completely separate," Jax adamantly said on an episode of his When Reality Hits podcast.
"We have our own building, but we do not live together. He is my best friend at the end of the day. And if I need help with something, if I need help with Cruz, he's right there.
"[Tom] loves Cruz. And when Cruz gets to come over here, he's gonna love hanging out with Uncle Tom."
Jax then opened up about how meaningful it has been to have his best friend close by after going through similar personal transitions over the past couple of years.
"Having my best friend who's gone through a divorce and we're the same age, it really, really helps.
"I've been with my wife for 10 years, and now I'm alone, so having my best friend nearby is very, very helpful.
"I have a couple other buddies that live down the street. I know everyone's thinking like, 'Oh my gosh, they're just going to [have] a crazy, party life,' [but] that's not true.
"We are all older now. We all have different ideas in life. And I think we have a good support system here, and I really like it."
Jax's divorce, mental health journey and finding a new home will all be documented on the upcoming season 2 of The Valley - which is set to come out in early 2025.
