Library collecting toy, baby and cleaning donations

Oct. 16 -- Residents can help those in need with baby items, cleaning supplies and toys for the holidays.

The Rolling Hills Library is accepting donations at both its branches to help local families.

Toys for Tots collection boxes are now set up at the Belt Branch, 1904 N. Belt, and the Savannah Branch, 514 W. Main, until Nov. 30. Items should be new, not wrapped and in the $5 to $15 range.

The toys will be given to organizations that distribute Christmas presents in Buchanan and Andrew counties.

Throughout November, the library also is taking donations of baby supplies, hygiene needs and cleaning items.

Diapers and pull-ups, wipes, baby bottles, pacifiers, sippy cups, shampoo, lotion, thermometers, diaper rash cream and clothing including toddler sizes are needed for baby donations.

Laundry detergent, home cleaning products, trash bags, rags, hand and dish soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and mouthwash, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner and body wash also are being sought.

Those items will be given to the Missouri Department of Social Services Children's Division Northwest Region Prevention Team.
