SELINSGROVE - Some local law enforcement agencies recently participated in some specialized training.
Last week, local law enforcement agencies, including the Snyder County Corrections department and Selinsgrove police, participated in Force-on-Force training using a state-of-the-art laser simulation device.
The training, organized by Snyder County Prison Warden Scott Robinson and Sergeant Francis Petrovich, involved members from Snyder County Corrections, Selinsgrove Police, and Snyder County Probation.
Officers engaged in realistic scenarios requiring them to make split-second decisions about using deadly force. Some of the exercises included prisoner escape attempts, high-risk vehicle stops where a firearm was drawn, and room clearing.
Sgt. Petrovich said the training emphasized collaboration among the agencies to better prepare for real-world incidents and marks the beginning of more joint training. He said the goal is to involve more local departments to ensure the best possible preparedness in serving the community.
