Minnesota Golden Gophers safety Koi Perich continues to make history during his freshman season as he set another record with his game-sealing interception in the team's 21-17 win over the UCLA Bruins on Saturday night.
Perich's interception on the last play of Saturday's game gave him four on the season, setting the Gophers' single-season freshman record.

Considering the program has been around since 1882, this is a notable accomplishment in a season that has been full of them for the Minnesota native.
Perich played a career-high 53 snaps against UCLA after starting safety Kerry Brown had been ruled out before kickoff. According to Pro Football Focus, he earned an overall defensive grade of 68.6, run defensive grade of 74.7, a pass rush grade of 68.3, a coverage grade of 62.6 and a tackling grade of 52.7.
A four-star recruit out of Esko, Minn., Perich spurned offers from powerhouses Ohio State and Florida State to stay home with the Gophers.
In seven games, Perich has nine tackles and a forced fumble and has been exceptional in coverage at the safety position making the game-clinching interceptions in an upset win over USC on Oct. 5 and against the Bruins on Saturday night.
With five games to go, Perich has a tremendous chance to add to his record beginning when the Gophers host Maryland on Oct. 26.
