Donald Trump apparently has an affinity for Sean "Diddy" Combs, so much that he once went out of his way to defend the embattled mogul against allegations of abusive behavior.
Arsenio Hall said he once witnessed Trump take up for Combs in response to former Danity Kane member Aubrey O'Day's critical comments concerning the Bad Boy founder.
During an appearance on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast, the comedian and iconic television host recalled the exchange, which occurred behind the scenes of Trump's hit reality show, Celebrity Apprentice.
"She says some negative things about Diddy, and I'm listening," Hall said of O'Day. "Trump chimes in and defends Diddy and that surprised me because usually Trump don't defend nobody but himself."
Hall claims that Trump then began passionately expressing his respect for Combs in response to O'Day's claims, stating that he's never had personal issues with the Bad Boy founder throughout their dealings and interactions.
"For him to speak up and say, 'Well, I like him, he's a good guy. I've never had a problem.' He gives him a full-throated vote of character," Arsenio said of Trump. He concluded, "I had no idea one day this was going to play out in real-time. But Trump liked Diddy."
Hall also admitted to attending numerous parties thrown by Combs throughout the years, which he says were also attended by kids on certain occasions. He says that the now-infamous parties were largely enjoyable and entertaining, up to a point.
"For instance, you use a person's home and their family is in the home, so it's fun, legitimate. 8:00 PM? Lots of food and music," he recalled. However, Hall attests that as the hours got late, the parties tended to get wilder.
"I've also seen the ones that last longer than eight or nine," he said, alluding to the alleged "freak-offs" involving guests at the parties and Combs himself.
Trump and Combs' relationship dates back to the '90s, with the two being spotted together in photos and in person on numerous occasions over the past three decades.
Combs even revealed that Trump was in attendance at his lavish 30th birthday party in 1999 during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2018.
