In decorating the 1839 Greek Revival home he shares with his husband in Lovell, Maine, Sean Litchfield is a master scavenger. Save for the accessories, many of which are inexpensive big-box store finds, none of the furnishings in their dining room were purchased new. Still, the scheme blends seamlessly. "It took living in the house a bit to understand what worked in a Greek Revival," says Litchfield, who is an architectural and interiors photographer. He's found that pieces with clean lines complement the understated spaces. Beyond that, he simply buys what he likes, as long as it's a bargain. "I don't take it too seriously," he says. "I'm winging it."
