Jackson County residents took to social media to try to find out what the source was of loud booms and rattling windows on Saturday morning .
According to Jackson County Emergency Management Director Earl Etheridge, the noise and tremors xane from military training flights in over the Gulf of Mexico.
Etheridge spoke to The Record in Ocean Springs and gave their reporter the explanation
"The shaking earlier this morning came from about 35 to 50 miles off our Coast from jets in the midst of defense training exercises. This happens this time every year, but this year the low humidity makes a difference in breaking the sound barrier- bigger-louder!!!"
