Dec. 31 -- LIMA -- Homeowners age 65 and older, as well as those who are permanently and totally disabled, may qualify for Ohio's Homestead Exemption, which provides property tax relief. Due to legislation passed in 2023, the Homestead income threshold and exemption amount will adjust to $40,000 for 2025, up from $38,600 in 2024, and the exemption value will increase to $28,000, up from $26,200 in 2024. Disabled veterans and spouses of the first responders killed in the line of duty qualify for an enhanced exemption. The value will increase to $56,000 from $52,300.
Allen County Auditor Rachael Gilroy is proud to help service seniors, disabled veterans, and surviving spouses of first responders who have died in the line of duty.
