Mister Donut's annual Pokémon Christmas lineup returns with fan favorites and a new addition -- Diglett. The Ground-type icon joins Pikachu and the Poké Ball in this season's doughnut offerings, featuring a caramel-coated Pon de Ring design that combines Mister Donut's signature charm with a festive Pokémon twist.

Mister Donut Adds Diglett to Its Pokémon Doughnut Lineup, Joining Fan-Favorites Pikachu and Poké Ball

Each year, Japan's popular doughnut chain Mister Donut releases an exceptional Christmas range in collaboration with Pokémon, a tradition that has continued to captivate fans since it began in 2018. The inaugural design featured a Pikachu doughnut deemed too unsightly to last. Still, after refining its appearance, Pikachu became a regular highlight in the annual lineup, accompanied by a Poké Ball-inspired doughnut. Since then, these two mainstays have been joined by a surprise Pokémon each year, adding a fresh element to the range.

In 2022, Jigglypuff made an appearance, followed by Psyduck in 2023. This year, Mister Donut welcomes back fan-favorite Pikachu, filled with whipped cream and coated in caramel custard-flavored chocolate, priced at 313 yen (around USD 2.06). The Poké Ball, a choux pastry with white chocolate and strawberry sugar topping, also returns for 248 yen.

According to SoraNews24, this season introduces a new character to the doughnut lineup -- Diglett -- marking the first time the Ground-type Pokémon has been featured in this format. The "Pon de Digda" doughnut merges Diglett's Japanese name, "Digda," with Mister Donut's signature "Pon de Ring" style, which comprises eight dough balls arranged in a ring. Diglett's doughnut incarnation is crafted from cream-filled choux pastry coated in caramel-flavored chocolate, with its base represented by a custard cream Pon de Ring topped with chocolate crunch pieces, giving it an adorable and edible "ground."

Exclusive Pokémon Doughnut Sets and Merchandise Offer Fans a Sweet Way to Collect

Mister Donut also offers two more Ground-type-inspired doughnuts with unique packaging: the Pikachu Custard Flavor Chocolate, priced at 216 yen, featuring whipped cream and custard filling in a caramel custard-flavored chocolate coating, packaged in a sleeve depicting Pikachu emerging from a doughnut hole, and the Dugtrio Caramel Flavor Chocolate, similarly priced at 216 yen, which showcases Dugtrio in matching packaging.

For those less inclined toward Pokémon-themed treats, Mister Donut also offers two "Pon de Wreath" options -- Pon de Wreath Chocolate and Pon de Wreath Caramel -- priced at 183 yen.

This collaboration traditionally includes exclusive merchandise, and this year, it offers three unique items: two blankets and a glass, all featuring Ground-type Pokémon in various playful scenes of popping up from doughnut holes. The Pon de Digda Blanket showcases characters like Diglett, Pikachu, Dugtrio, Drilbur, Pawmi, and Trapinch and folds into a Poké Ball cushion. The Friends Blanket, with a similar cast, packs into a Super Ball cushion. The glass, ergonomically shaped, also features the Pokémon.

These items are available through two bundles: the "Goods Set," which includes two Pokémon doughnuts, a Pon de Wreath of choice, and a blanket, priced at 1,990 yen for takeout or 2,004 yen for dine-in, all wrapped in a unique paper bag. The "Children's Goods Set," priced at 990 yen for takeout or 999 yen for dine-in, includes a Pokémon doughnut, a Pon de Wreath, and the glass in original packaging.

To collect all items, one would spend 4,970 yen, which covers eight doughnuts and exclusive merchandise not available elsewhere -- an enticing offer for fans and collectors alike. For those with additional funds, Mister Donut provides plenty of other options to indulge, with countless ways to spend 1,000 yen at the chain.
