(TNND) -- Former band members of One Direction made a joint statement in response to Liam Payne's untimely death on the band's Instagram account.

Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan were part of the band with Liam Payne after all meeting on X-Factor in 2010.

Tomlinson posted his own statement to his Instagram, saying "I want you to know that if Bear ever needs me I will be the Uncle he needs in his life and tell him stories of how amazing his dad was."

Malik made his own statement on Payne's death, saying "I never got to thank you for supporting me through some of the most difficult times in my life."
