MEN WEAR PINK of New Hampshire has announced its ambassadors for the 2024 campaign. New Hampshire leaders from the community will join together with the American Cancer Society to raise funds to support breast cancer research, patient programs, and direct services. This is the 9th annual Men Wear Pink of New Hampshire campaign. For more information on the campaign visit menwearpink.org/NH.
Men Wear Pink was designed to engage more male community leaders and influencers in the American Cancer Society's vision to end breast cancer as we know it, for everyone. Community leaders around the nation use the power of wearing pink during the month of October to draw attention to the cause, while also raising funds and awareness through events and social media for the American Cancer Society's breast cancer initiatives.
Men Wear Pink ambassadors raise awareness and funds to support Men Wear Pink by committing to a goal of raising at least $2,500 and wearing pink every day in the month of October. Since 2022, Troy Merwin, who is employed by Advantage Truck Group, has participated in Men Wear Pink of NH and receives support and encouragement during his campaign from his employer. "At ATG, a commitment to our employees and our communities is at the heart of everything we do. Breast cancer touches every community, and we are proud to support Troy and his efforts through the Men Wear Pink program to raise awareness and funds to help find a cure," said Kevin Holmes, president and CEO of Advantage Truck Group.
Men Wear Pink began in 2013 as a movement in Jackson, Tennessee, and has since raised more than $40 million. Over the past decade, thousands of leaders across the country have rallied in support of the American Cancer Society's work to improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients and their families.
"About 2,800 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, along with 310,720 of their wives, daughters, sisters, and friends," said Nancy Mathis, senior development manager. "We are grateful to the leaders in New Hampshire for their efforts and support of the American Cancer Society's mission and many of our leaders have been supporting our campaign for many years."
For 110 years, the American Cancer Society has been a leader in the fight against cancer. More people are surviving cancer than ever before, but there is still work to be done. Dollars raised through Men Wear Pink help the American Cancer Society fund innovative breast cancer research, provide education and guidance to help people reduce their risk, and offer comprehensive patient support to those who need it most.
