COOK COUNTY, Ill. - Cook County Sheriff's Deputies helped make the holidays happen with their annual Shop With A Sheriff event Sunday morning.
Kids from the south suburbs got to "Shop With A Sheriff" in Bedford Park. They paired up with sheriff's deputies to hunt for presents for loved ones.
The program began 11 years ago. Every year, the fraternal order of police lodge four raises money so children can go on a shopping spree, buying gifts for their families, and a few for themselves of course.
The only question is who had more fun, the children or the deputies?
"Some came from home. Some are on their days off and they're coming in because, like I said earlier, this is as enjoyable for us as it is for them, and we love it," Chief Leo Schmitz of the Cook County Sheriff's Office said.
