While Alabama had its opportunities to win the game -- Jalen Milroe threw an interception inside the Vols' 5-yard line and another to essentially end the game -- one of the bigger moments that emerged was a potential missed penalty against the Vols in the final two minutes.
Coming out of the two-minute timeout in the fourth quarter, Tennessee dialed up the pressure against Alabama quarterback Milroe. The quarterback's pass was dropped by junior wide receiver Kendrick Law, bringing up fourth-and-7 from the Alabama 33-yard line.

The play led to a costly 15-yard penalty against the Crimson Tide, however, as Law was called for a personal foul after pushing Tennessee defensive back Boo Carter. Law's penalty put Alabama into a fourth-and-22 from its 18-yard line. Alabama only got 13 yards on the ensuing play, resulting in a turnover on downs.
But Alabama fans were left wondering why officials didn't also penalize Carter on the play, which would have offset Law's penalty and given Alabama a more manageable fourth-and-7 conversion attempt.
As shown in the video below, Carter got into Law's face first, causing the receiver to shove him. Carter then threw a punch at Law, which failed to connect. Tennessee linebacker Arion Carter had to step in and break both players up. The sideline official threw his flag after the whistle, but it was directed only against Law -- and not the Vols defensive back.
Alabama eventually got the ball back a minute later, after Tennessee went up 24-17 from a field goal from Max Gilbert. But Milroe was intercepted by Will Brooks at the Alabama 25-yard line.
With the loss, Alabama moves to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in SEC play on the season. The Crimson Tide will take on No. 16 Missouri on Saturday in Tuscaloosa
