You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly.
You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. I bought a brand new Macbook Pro back in 2019 (Touch Bar/6-core i7 2.6GHz/16GB/256GB SSD/Radeon Pro 555X w 4GB).
While browsing the internet in 2022, it shut down and wouldn't start. However, since it was not my main computer, I didn't bother with it until now.
I took the computer to an authorised Apple service for a diagnostic and a quote. And, to my surprise it came back with the following issues:
Motherboard - to be replaced (not surprised)
Battery - to be replaced (not surprised)
Display - to be replaced. (why?)
While I get the idea for the first two - the computer sat unused and I suspect a problem with the motherboard was initially to blame, the battery lost its properties, I don't understand the display part. What kind of issue could affect the display?
At this point I'm wondering if I should take it to a different service for a new diagnosis?
