Kia Sportage 2025 facelift first photos revealed

The long-awaited restyling of the Kia Sportage is finally unveiled in its home country, with the South Korean market website showing us preview photos of the revamped SUV, both inside and out.

The facelift of the fifth-generation Sportage is easily recognisable by its all-new front end sporting a more rectangular grille and vertically developed light clusters. Also changing is the rear where the new light signature inside the substantially unchanged light clusters stands out.

The styling of the Kia Sportage 2025 changes, especially at the front, is in line with the family resemblance of other new Kia models such as the Sorento, thanks to the all-new vertically developed headlights (Starmap Signature Lighting) and the taller front end with the new vertically slotted grille.

Also new is the design of the alloy wheels, as well as the tail which features a redesigned bumper and modified lights that for the first time also welcome animation upon opening.

Inside the new Kia we find a new, more horizontal dashboard layout with new air vents, a polygonal steering wheel with a new design and a curved panoramic screen that houses instrumentation and infotainment with a new operating system.

Plus there are mirrors that fold down in reverse, 3D camera display, lane-change assistant on motorways and emergency braking that also detects motorbikes.

In terms of engines, the South Korean market offers the 180-PS 1.6-litre turbo petrol, for the first time mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with torque converter, and its mild hybrid variant, also with 180 PS, with a six-speed dual clutch. Both are offered with front- or all-wheel drive.

A bifuel petrol/LPG version with the 146 PS 2.0-litre engine and front-wheel drive is also available in the South Korean domestic market. In all likelihood in the rest of the world, including Europe and UK, full hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions will also be offered, while it is not yet known whether the diesel mild hybrid version will be offered again.
