Things to Do: New Year's Eve events, live music and new films

The numbers, which stand 7 feet tall, arrived at Broadway Plaza, between 46th and 47th streets, on Wednesday morning. They'll stay in place for public viewing until Dec. 23. CBS News New York's Cindy Hsu reports.

Here's a look at the week ahead with an emphasis on New Year's Eve events.

Lucas Zelnick. 8 and 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31 at Helium Comedy Club, 30 Mississippi St.

Lucas Zelnick has an MBA from Stanford and more than 37 million TikTok likes and 100 million views - and counting. Those fun facts may seem disparate, but together they brought the young comedian to where he is today, appearing on Comedy Central, the New York Comedy Festival and SF Sketchfest. Zelnick didn't develop his stand-up talents until after college, but says his New York City upbringing and his family helped. "I always found myself funny, and I think my family raised me to have a good -- if not dry, and sometimes a little mean -- sense of humor," he said in an interview with the Stanford Daily. Zelnick has two shows on New Year's Eve at Helium, with the later show including a champagne toast and favors.
