Caitlin Clark wasn't the only Indianapolis-based star who came to see Taylor Swift perform live at the Lucas Oil Stadium over the weekend. Former Indianapolis Colts punter turned ESPN sportscaster Pat McAfee also turned up to see the magic of Taylor Swift live in the flesh. While Clark took part in both Friday and Saturday's shows, McAfee was in attendance for Sunday's finale.
The concert, however, coincided with the Colts' Week 9 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Despite witnessing Swift perform live on stage for what he described as a "(expletive) insane" show, McAfee still could not help but keep one eye peeled for the Colts game.
In fact, McAfee even sent out a couple of tweets about the game while the concert was going on.
"THIS COLTS D IS EATINNNNN," he posted first.
McAfee liked what he saw from his Colts so much -- at least early on in the game -- that he decided to make a sweeping declaration about Indianapolis' Super Bowl chances.
"Couple missed kicks.. jitters are high Big fight feel Colts are gonna win the Super Bowl," he stated.
Unfortunately for McAfee, the Colts failed to live up to his bold claim. Their defense let up in the second half, allowing the Vikings to score 21 points after holding them scoreless in the first half.
The Colts went on to lose, 21-13, marking their second consecutive defeat.
More than a few Swift fans could not help but troll McAfee for what they consider to be a perplexing move during the concert. The Swifties weren't happy with McAfee live-tweeting the game while he was at the show, and they did not hesitate to call him out -- especially after seeing the Colts lose.
"Welcome to TayVooDoo. Give Taylor your full attention next time, bestie. ๐ซถ๐ป" a comment read.
"Swifties are gonna revolt on you for live posting NFL during the concert ๐" predicted another.
"Looks like Tayvoodoo got your (expletive) ๐๐" said a Swift fan.
"Nope. Chiefs. Because taylor," reacted another.
"living for the hope of it all... the Taylor Swift effect ๐ซถ๐ซถ๐ซถ" a reaction read.
"Pat you want to switch seats? I'll enjoy the concert you can watch the football game," suggested a reader.
Needless to say, McAfee's prediction pretty much blew up in his face, and Swift fans are adamant that this was karma hitting the ESPN host for choosing not to give the show his 100% attention.
The former All-Pro punter will definitely have a lot to say on Monday's episode of the "Pat McAfee Show" -- both about the Colts' tough loss and his "Eras Tour" experience (probably).
