BLOOMINGTON -- The Normal Community High School football team bounced back quickly from an early Bloomington touchdown and dominated the second half Friday on its way to a 44-14 Big 12 Conference victory at Fred Carlton Field.

"We knew they were good. I was just really proud we didn't panic really at any points," NCHS coach Jason Drengwitz said. "It's good to see our maturity continue to grown."

In a battle of Big 12 unbeatens and state-ranked teams, Class 7A No. 8 NCHS moved to 5-1 overall and 5-0 in league play. Class 6A No. 8 BHS fell to 5-1 and 4-1 in the Big 12.

"We've been really impressed with them all week watching them on film. We feel blessed to get out of there with a win," said Drengwitz. "We're undefeated in the Big 12 and in the driver's seat. Now we've got to take care of business week to week."
