CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) -- Nearly 250,000 people have voted early in West Virginia, with almost half of those people being registered Republicans, according to data from the Secretary of State's Office.
As of Oct. 31, Kanawha County has the most early votes cast with 25,049 votes making up the 244,336 total across the Mountain State, the data shows. Other counties with high voter turnout include Berkeley, Monongalia, Wood and Cabell.
The counties with the lowest voter turnout include Gilmer, McDowell, Webster, Wirt and Doddridge counties, according to the data.
