THE REST OF OUR WEEKEND. SO RIGHT NOW, AS WE TAKE A LOOK AT OUR PORTLAND SKY CAM, THINGS ARE STILL REMAINING CLEAR. BUT WE'RE LOSING THE WIND GUSTS FOR NOW. THIS IS KIND OF LIKE A FAKE YOU OUT MOMENT BY MOTHER NATURE. WE'RE LOOKING AT THE WINDS RIGHT NOW COMING CALM FROM THE WEST FIVE MILES PER HOUR. SO TEMPERATURES INTO THE MID 40S ARE STARTING TO FEEL MORE LIKE THE MID 40S AND LESS LIKE A WIND CHILL FACTOR, WHICH, REMEMBER, IS THE WIND AGAINST THE SKIN, MAKING THE TEMPERATURE FEEL A LITTLE BIT COOLER THAN IT IS. AND THOSE DEW POINTS ARE HONESTLY DRIVING HOW IT FEELS OUTSIDE AS WELL. THE LOWER THE DEW POINT, THE DRIER THE AIR, AND WE'RE TRACKING DRY AIR MOVING IN RIGHT NOW WITH SOME OF THESE ISOLATED SNOW SHOWERS AND EVEN SOME MIXING THERE, YOU CAN SEE WITH THE RAIN SHOWERS JUST LEAVING MEXICO. RUMFORD LIVERMORE MILLS, LIVERMORE FALLS. I SHOULD SAY TURNER EVENTUALLY GOING TO BE SEEING SOME OF THESE ISOLATED SHOWERS, BUT I THINK THE DRY ENOUGH AIR IS KEEPING THOSE SNOWFLAKES ACTUALLY SMALL. THEY'RE TEENY TINY, AND IT'S ALSO GOING TO KEEP, SADLY, THOSE RAIN SHOWERS DRYING OUT, WHICH WE DESPERATELY NEED. SPEAKING OF DESPERATELY NEEDING THE RAIN BECAUSE WE'RE SO DRY, WE HAVE AN ELEVATED FIRE DANGER GOING INTO THE REST OF THE EVENING TONIGHT AND INTO OUR SUNDAY WITH THIS DRY AIR MASS, THESE BREEZY CONDITIONS COMBINED THAT WITH THE DRY GRASS, THE LEAVES, ANYTHING THAT YOU CAN THINK OF, THOSE ARE GOING TO BE ADDITIONAL FUEL FOR IF THERE IS A FIRE WHICH WE'VE ALREADY HAD SEVERAL REPORTS OF BRUSH FIRES THIS WEEKEND ALONE, THERE'S ONE ACTIVELY BURNING RIGHT NOW. SO TAKING A LOOK AT THAT EIGHT DAY FORECAST, WE HAVE PUT IMPACT WEATHER THERE FOR OUR SUNDAY FOR THAT FIRE DANGER. BUT WE'RE ALSO GOING TO BE LOOKING AT THOSE COOL TEMPERATURES, WAKING UP INTO THE MID 30S, LOW 30S, MAYBE SOME FROST LOW 50S. SO REMEMBER THAT AS WE'RE TAKING A LOOK AT SOME OF WHAT THOSE WIND GUSTS WILL FEEL LIKE AND BE TOMORROW AROUND RIGHT AROUND NOON, MOST OF OUR GUSTS WILL BE BETWEEN 20 TO 25MPH. HIGHER INTO THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. LOOK AT RANGELEY AROUND 4:00 IN THE AFTERNOON. THIS IS WHEN PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO GET OUTDOORS. MAYBE THEY'RE ENJOYING SOME OF THEIR FALL ACTIVITIES. 40S THAT'S GOING TO BE ENOUGH TO KNOCK OUT POWER AND TREES AND SMALL LIMBS, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THAT DROUGHT IS WORSENING. SO THERE IS A RED FLAG WARNING RIGHT NOW IN EFFECT FOR CARROLL COUNTY. MOST OF SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE. BUT WEATHER DOESN'T REALLY HAVE A BORDER, SO IT WILL GO INTO EFFECT AT EIGHT IN THE MORNING, GOING UNTIL SIX IN THE EVENING. AND I'D SAY WATCH OUT FOR YOUR CONDITIONS. BUT THERE IS STILL A CHANCE THAT WE DO STILL TRACK AT LEAST SOME ISOLATED SHOWERS AND EVEN A SNOW FLURRY LEFT AS WE GO TOWARDS LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON, PRIMARILY FOR THE WHITE MOUNTAINS AND EVEN OFF TO OXFORD COUNTY AND EVEN BEYOND. THERE'S A STRAY SHOWER POTENTIAL THERE, BUT AFTER THAT WE DO STAY RELATIVELY DRY, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THERE IS A CHANCE LATE TUESDAY INTO EARLY MORNING WEDNESDAY, KIDS SHOULD BE HAPPY TO KNOW THEY'RE GOING TO SCHOOL BUS THINGS WILL BE MOSTLY DRY. ANOTHER CHANCE THERE FOR THURSDAY. GOING INTO EARLY FRIDAY, BUT I'LL BE BACK WITH TH
WMTW Sunday Morning Forecast
