My Charleston Weekend: A mimosa festival, Italian feast and Riverfront Revival

And I hope you've worked up an appetite this week. Edisto Island will be hosting Cookin' On The Creek BBQ Festival while Summerville will be presenting the Summerville Italian Feast. For those who never do brunch without a mimosa in hand, there's also the Charleston Mimosa Festival.

SATURDAY (OCT. 12)

Applause for Paws Gala

What: Join the Charleston Animal Society in celebrating 150 years of compassion and advocacy for animals in the Lowcountry with the Applause for Paws Gala. This "Mission Pawsible"-themed event will be held at the Charleston Gaillard Center, 95 Calhoun St., beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. All secret agents from around the Lowcountry are invited to enjoy a gala dinner with live entertainment. Proceeds will benefit the lives of local canine companions. Individual tickets are $350. SATURDAY (OCT. 12)

Charleston Mimosa Festival

For those who appreciate a little fruit juice with their glass of bubbly, you'll want to head over to the Johnson Hagood Stadium, The Citadel, 68 Hagood Ave., from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12 for the Charleston Mimosa Festival. Try all the different mimosa flavors available, as well as brunch punch, beer and wine, and food vendors for snacking. Sip your drink of choice and vibe to live music and a DJ performance. A souvenir cup is included in your ticket price. Tickets are $55 in advance and $65 day-of the event -- unless you're one of the first 500 to enter the event, then admission will be just $40. SUNDAY (OCT. 13)

Summerville Italian Feast

What: Experience authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of downtown Summerville at Hutchinson Square, free of charge from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13. There will be delicious food of all types from the Lowcountry, as well as Italian to tempt every taste bud. Sample as you like and don't miss out on the Italian wine and beer available. Enjoy the entertainment of local talent from the students of Dorchester District II, as well as a variety of crafts, arts and food vendors in celebration of Italian Culture and Heritage throughout the day. FRIDAY-SATURDAY (OCT. 11-12)

Cookin' On The Creek BBQ Festival

Cookin' on The Creek BBQ Festival is a two-day event held at Bay Creek Park, 7836 Turtle Hill Lane, Edisto Island. The festival kicks off from 6-10 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11 with the "Wing Throw Down" and live music by Midlands native Cody Webb. On Saturday, Oct. 12, you're invited to sample many different barbecues and vote for your favorite from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday will also play host to a cornhole competition, live music and family fun. FRIDAY-SATURDAY (OCT. 11-12)

Riverfront Revival

Riverfront Revival is a love letter to country music and South Carolina's Lowcountry. The two-day festival will be held 5-11 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11 and noon-11 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12 at Riverfront Park, 1061 Everglades Ave., North Charleston. The event will be loaded with unforgettable live music from talents like Hootie & the Blowfish, The Revivalists and Paul Cauthen, plus delicious bites inspired by the region's unique cuisines.
